With the summer having drawn to a close, the smartphone world is gearing up for a busy autumn launch window - and Huawei wants to be front and centre with the Mate 10.

Last year's Mate 9 was a beast of a phone, taking everything we loved about the P10 and making it bigger, better and more powerful. Plus it didn't have to go up against Samsung's Galaxy Note, which was having a few explosive teething problems. That means the pressure is on for 2017, with the Mate 10 having to work harder to impress us.

All You Should Know about The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL

Google has launched two new flagship smartphones: the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL. The latter features a longer bezel-less screen, but both gadgets showcase Google’s vision of the ideal Android smartphones.

Unlike the iPhone and iPhone Plus, both of Google’s Pixel phones share most of the same hardware. The biggest difference is the screen size.

The Pixel 2 XL has an infinity display, which means it removes the bezel at the bottom. What you get instead is a larger 6-inch screen in what would have been the size of last year’s Pixel XL with a 5.5-inch.

Meanwhile, the Pixel 2 sticks to the standard touchscreen phone format we have been used to for years now. It’s a 5-inch screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio, just like its predecessor.

Both smartphones use OLED displays for better colors. The 5-inch Pixel 2 has a resolution of 1920×1080 (441 ppi), while the 6-inch Pixel 2 XL boosts the resolution to 2880×1440 (538 ppi), in an odd 18:9 aspect ratio.

The other difference in the phones is the battery capacity. The Pixel  2 packs a 2700 mAh battery while the Pixel 2 XL has a 3500 mAh battery. However, Google is quick to state that you shouldn’t go by the numbers alone here. The larger screen size requires the larger battery. But the actual battery life for both phones is the same, lasting you all day of regular usage, or giving you seven hours of use on 15 minutes of charge.

After the release of Xiaomi Note 5A, We are still looking up to bigger family of Xiaomi. Although, there really hasn't been much info on the next member of Xiaomi's legendary value branch. A new set of renders has recently popped-up online that claim the major way the Chinese manufacturer plans to add another bit of value to the Redmi mix is through a dual camera setup.



However, if we do give the renders the benefit of the doubt, we definitely like what we see. On the back, (Dual Camera) the Redmi Note 5 is said to have a 16MP main snapper, accompanied by a 5MP secondary one. While on the front, the likely 5.5-inch, FullHD panel seems to extend almost to the left and right sides of the glass.

The display is likely not the only thing Xiaomi will keep unchanged about the Redmi Note 5. When you have a lineup as successful as this, fiddling with it really isn't that great of an idea. That's why we expect to see the same metal unibody design, central-mounted fingerprint reader on the back, capacitive navigation buttons on the front and a 3.5mm audio jack and IR blaster on the top of the phone. Many specs and leaked images have circulated rapidly online.

But to reiterate a few other alleged specs, we are anticipating a choice between two efficient 14nm Qualcomm chipsets - the Snapdragon 630 and Snapdragon 660, coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of storage. Powering that should be a 3,790 mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0 support, cut down a bit compared to the Redmi Note 4's 4,100 mAh in order to achieve a slimmer 7.5mm profile.
