Samsung Galaxy S9 introduce the powerful Snapdragone 845

According to a tweet from Russian tech journalist Eldar Murtazin, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Samsung Galaxy S9+ will be the first handsets to sport the Snapdragon 845 chipset. Murtazin's tweet also hints that the 2018 Samsung flagship models will be the only phones using the new chipsets for an unknown period of time. This is similar to what happened earlier this year when Samsung made a deal with Qualcomm, and purchased all of the Snapdragon 835 chips being produced at the time. The silicon ended up inside the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ As a result, LG was forced to use the older Snapdragon 821 when it launched the LG G6 this past March, which might have had a negative impact on sales of the phone.

Murtazin also said in his tweet that the Galaxy S9 will be announced a month earlier than usual. That could mean almost anything since the Galaxy S8/S8+ were introduced in late March. Usually, Samsung unveils its new flagship model a day before the MWC trade show kicks off in Barcelona. This has traditionally taken place in late February or early March.

The confusion here is whether Murtazin means that the Galaxy S9 will be introduced a month earlier than this year, which would mean that the phone will be unwrapped around February 25th, the day before MWC 2018 opens. Or, it could mean that the unveiling will take a place a month earlier than usual, which would mean that a late January announcement could be in the works.

Either way, if the tweet is legit, we won't have to wait as long as we did last year for Sammy's new top shelf model..
