Nokia has been king in the telecommunication
market for decades. It first gained popularity for its high built quality phones that lasted longer. It was last seen in the markets with its “Communicators” like the E series and qwerty keypads using the Symbian OS. However, The company was to be much more successful in the post-smartphone era and somehow couldn’t survive later with the introduction of Android OS in the market. Now it has been acquired by HMD global and has succeeded in making a great comeback with the introduction of its first ever smartphone called Nokia 6. With its successful reception, a lot is expected from the Nokia 8 which is set to be released in the coming months. On the other hand, Samsung, the new king in the market is ready to launch the addition to the most awaited series. The Galaxy S8 is also expected to hit the markets soon and now the question is, with such high-class specs of both the phones, which one would be more successful than the other? Let’s take a look at the specs!
Nokia undoubtedly has been manufacturing break-resistant phones over the years and continuing the same trend, the Nokia 8 is expected to be scratch, water, and dust resistant. On the other hand, there have been rumors that the Galaxy S8 will feature the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which not only protects the screen but also makes it dust and scratch resistant at the same time. Samsung might go waterproof this time since there have been rumors that it might ditch the audio jack which is considered to be one of the hurdles in waterproofing a phone.
Interestingly, the specs on the previous version, the Nokia 6 have been amazing and now a bigger yet power-saving processing engine is expected in the newer version. Moreover, 6GB of RAM and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is expected to run the new smartphone so processing wise, it will be a good experience. However, these rumored processing specs are very similar to those on the Galaxy S8, except for the processor.
Comparing the design is always fun because both the companies are still striving to innovate design and give a classy and high-end outlook to the phone sets. The Samsung S8 is expected to go bezel-less with its curved edge while the back of the phone will be aluminum, much like its predecessors. The iconic home button will most likely disappear and will be supported by a fingerprint sensor beneath the screen instead. While that gets us all excited about the design of the Samsung S8, the Nokia team is also set to offer a high-end design that is expected to be a slate with thinner bezels and uni-body metallic frame.
According to the rumors, Samsung S8 will be sporting a 6.2 inches screen while Nokia 8 will go up to 5.70 inches. Both the sizes are decent enough to let the users multitask as well as enjoy video streaming. We do hope that the storage space will also be upgraded by Nokia to let the consumers make use of the phone to store their data as well.
