Samsung Galaxy S9 introduce the powerful Snapdragone 845

According to a tweet from Russian tech journalist Eldar Murtazin, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Samsung Galaxy S9+ will be the first handsets to sport the Snapdragon 845 chipset. Murtazin's tweet also hints that the 2018 Samsung flagship models will be the only phones using the new chipsets for an unknown period of time. This is similar to what happened earlier this year when Samsung made a deal with Qualcomm, and purchased all of the Snapdragon 835 chips being produced at the time. The silicon ended up inside the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ As a result, LG was forced to use the older Snapdragon 821 when it launched the LG G6 this past March, which might have had a negative impact on sales of the phone.

Murtazin also said in his tweet that the Galaxy S9 will be announced a month earlier than usual. That could mean almost anything since the Galaxy S8/S8+ were introduced in late March. Usually, Samsung unveils its new flagship model a day before the MWC trade show kicks off in Barcelona. This has traditionally taken place in late February or early March.

The confusion here is whether Murtazin means that the Galaxy S9 will be introduced a month earlier than this year, which would mean that the phone will be unwrapped around February 25th, the day before MWC 2018 opens. Or, it could mean that the unveiling will take a place a month earlier than usual, which would mean that a late January announcement could be in the works.

Either way, if the tweet is legit, we won't have to wait as long as we did last year for Sammy's new top shelf model..

Nokia Is about to Launch a Beast NOKIA P1 Ending of this Year

NOKIA P1  the latest flagship device from the iconic phone brand , has a scheduled release date at the end of this month, according to the latest reports. But the media launch of the P1 could bring a slew of other Nokia news, including the return of a classic phone, the latest rumours have suggested.

The flagship Nokia P1 is set to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress tradeshow in Barcelona later this month.

Excitement around the upcoming smartphone has seen shares in HMD Global, the company behind the Nokia brand, rocket.

According to the latest rumours, the Nokia P1 will run the latest version of Google's Android operating system out-of-the-box.

That means Nokia P1 owners will benefit from the latest software features, including split-screen apps, better battery life, new granular security settings, and a whole host of new emoji.

In terms of hardware, the Nokia P1 will purportedly include a 22.6MP rear camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, as well as a hefty 3,500mAh battery and the latest Qualcomm processor.

The Nokia P1 is expected to ship with an all-metal unibody design, and a 5.3-inch display shielded by Gorilla Glass 5.

Below the screen, Nokia is rumoured to include a physical home button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor to quickly unlock the device and authorise in-app purchases.

Most exciting of all HMD Global is set to unveil a revamped version of the iconic Nokia 3310
But the latest reports suggest the P1 will not be the only announcement Nokia has planned for its press conference at Mobile World Congress this month.

According to the latest whispers, Finland-based HMD Global will also showcase the Nokia 6 , a mid-range model specific to the Chinese market.

Some have speculated a European-variation of the Nokia 6 will debut on-stage at Mobile World Congress, or MWC.

In addition to the Nokia 6, HMD is rumoured to unveil two new low-end Android 7.0 Nougat smartphones, purportedly dubbed Nokia 3 and Nokia 5.

Both will ship with a specs sheet worse than the Nokia 6, with rumours of a 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 430 chip, 4GB of RAM and a 16MP rear camera.

According to reports, the Nokia 6 will be sold for €249 (some £211), the Nokia 5 at €199 (roughly £169) and the Nokia 3 for €149 (roughly £125).

But – most exciting of all – HMD Global is reportedly looking into unveiling a revamped version of the Nokia 3310.

Samsung Foldable Smartphones are soon going to be a Reality, Receives certificate

Samsung Foldable smartphones are soon going to be a reality. A new report says that the Samsung smartphone (model no- SM-G888N0) has got its certification from the National Radio Research Agency (NRRA), South Korea. It is said that the handset when unveiled, may be named as Samsung Galaxy X.

Since a long time we have been hearing that the Korean Company has been working on the Galaxy X1 and Galaxy X1 Plus foldable smartphones. According to some sources, the foldable smartphones will be launched in 2019.

Earlier Koh Dong-Jin, President of the mobile business at Samsung Electronics, had stated that they are planning to release a smartphone with bendable display in 2018. He had also said that the foldable smartphone will be launched under the ‘Galaxy Note’ brand.

The Galaxy X is predicted to feature a “flexible” or “secondary” display. Rumors say that the secondary display will turn on when the handset will be folded. The bendable section will be right at the center of the device, which will allow users to hold the smartphone like a flip phone. The physical home button will be placed on the front of Galaxy X.

 

The foldable smartphone will be launched in two variants- Galaxy X and Galaxy X1, under a codename ‘Project Valley’. However, nothing has been yet confirmed by the company yet.

Galaxy Note 8 Ties iPhone 8 Plus in DxOMarks camera Rankings

On its release date, Apple’s iPhone 8 Plus took the the top spot in DxOMark’s rankings for best smartphone camera. Now, the results are in for Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus has to share its short-lived title.



Before diving into the details, it’s always good to remember that rating camera performance is a subjective matter. While DxOMark certainly does a thorough job testing cameras in all sorts of conditions, it is a human who scores each attribute, as opposed to an objective test like CPU benchmarking.

So, how did the Galaxy Note 8 do? The device received an overall score of 94 points just like the iPhone 8 Plus. However, the Note 8 scored lower on the video portion coming in at 84 points (lining up with CNET’s recent review), with the photo sub score coming in at a record 100 points.

While DxOMark shares that there is a lot to love about this camera, it calls it “The best smartphone for zoom”. Here is a comparison of the Note 8 and iPhone 8 Plus at 8x zoom:

Another aspect where DxOMark feels the Note 8 camera shines is with bokeh effect (when it works). DxOMark notes that, “Repeatability is also a bit hit and miss, and although the bokeh effect kicks in more often when shooting static subjects, we found the effect wasn’t applied on around a third of our portrait shots.”

Bokeh simulation on the Note 8 does a pretty consistent job in both low and bright light conditions. Its strengths are a strong blur or depth-of-field effect, which can make for some striking portraits.

As for video, the Note 8 lost points in this review for a more limited dynamic range and users having to manually enable autofocus tracking.

As for DxOMark’s conclusion, it details the Note 8 as an “outstanding choice for the smartphone photography enthusiast, matching the top overall score of 94 points of the iPhone 8 Plus.” But, it alludes to expectations that the iPhone X or Google’s Pixel 2 XL will top both of these devices, “With new devices on the horizon from several of the key innovators for smartphone photography, will the Note 8 be able to hold onto its top spot? Time will tell.”

As for the iPhone X, its camera system features a wider aperture on the telephoto lens coming in at ƒ/2.4 and includes dual optical image stabilization, while the iPhone 8 Plus has a ƒ/2.8 for the telephoto lens and doesn’t feature dual OIS. DxOMark’s full review of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8.
